A residential architect is involved in the development of design concepts, formulation of solutions, and the implementation of residential buildings, high-rise buildings, condominiums, and homes, among other dwellings where people live. The conceptual and design process is aimed at creating aesthetic and functional spaces. After the design is completed, their duties may include supervision of works on site, contracts negotiations and purchasing supplies.
The residential architect is tasked to come up with design solutions that fit into a certain budget, time limit, and space. In addition to working within the given set criteria, the residential architect has to meet the needs of not only the client but also the contractor. Lastly, a residential architect has to ensure a smooth progression of the design process by holding several meetings with vendors, contractors, and clients.
